Check out some useful tips to help you organise both areas of your life without major conflicts.
While it’s common for university students to seek full-time or part-time jobs, some high school students are also already part of the workforce. However, this should not be an excuse to neglect studies. If you’re struggling to balance these responsibilities, learn how to plan your studies while meeting your work obligations:
1.) PLAN IN DETAILIf you needed planning as a full-time student, now that you have a job, it’s even more essential. Be specific about all your tasks and stick to your schedule. Allocate time for school, work, and actual study sessions. Also, include leisure periods where you can unwind in ways you enjoy. Your brain needs downtime, and after so much effort, you deserve it.
2.) DON’T OVERCOMMITDon’t take on more responsibilities than you can handle, either at work or in your academic life. Remember that when you commit to a job, you should strive for the best performance possible without neglecting your studies. If you believe you can’t lead a project at work or school, it’s okay to decline.
3.) TRY MORNINGS FOR STUDYINGConsider using the morning hours for studying and completing homework. You might think waking up an hour earlier is unproductive, but many people perform better in the morning. Test this routine for a week. If it doesn’t work for you, try identifying a different, more productive time.
